Method for determining the replacement of air filter elements in hydraulic shovels and excavators
For the air filter element of hydraulic forklifts and excavators, the decision to replace it can be considered comprehensively from multiple aspects. In terms of replacement cycle, it is usually recommended to replace or clean the air filter at least every 2000 hours or when the warning light is on. Among them, the outer filter element can be cleaned up to 6 times and must be replaced afterwards; The internal filter element is a disposable item and cannot be cleaned. It needs to be replaced directly. If the working environment is harsh, such as dusty or sandy, the replacement cycle should be appropriately shortened. If necessary, an oil bath pre filter can be selected or installed to ensure the intake quality of the engine, and the oil inside the oil bath pre filter should be replaced every 250 hours.
From the status of the filter element, if damage, small holes, or glue peeling at the edge of the filter paper are found during daily inspections, the filter element should be replaced in a timely manner. When using compressed air to clean the filter element, be careful not to exceed a pressure of 5 bar and avoid the nozzle being too close to the filter element. After cleaning, the filter element can be inspected with light. If small holes or thin parts are found on the filter paper, the filter element should also be replaced. In addition, if the filter is damaged, it must be replaced regardless of whether the replacement cycle has been reached.
Regularly checking the condition of the filter element is an important step in ensuring the normal operation of the equipment. Once the filter element needs to be replaced as mentioned above, it should be replaced in a timely manner to ensure that the air filter can effectively filter out impurities in the air, provide clean air for the engine, prevent dust from causing engine wear, and ensure the reliability and durability of the engine.
