What is the working mode of hydraulic oil filter element

The working mode of hydraulic oil filter is mainly based on the physical barrier effect of the filtering medium. The hydraulic oil filter effectively filters out impurities in the hydraulic oil through its unique filter structure and filtering mechanism, protecting the normal operation of mechanical equipment and improving production efficiency.
Working mode of hydraulic oil filter element
Impurity capture:
When hydraulic oil flows through the filter element, the filter inside the filter element will capture and block solid particles, gel like substances, and various impurities mixed in from the outside or generated inside the system during operation. These impurities include but are not limited to metal shavings, dust, moisture, etc.
Clean hydraulic oil through:
While impurities are blocked outside the filter screen, clean hydraulic oil smoothly passes through the filter element and continues to circulate in the hydraulic system. This step ensures the cleanliness of the hydraulic oil, thereby protecting the normal operation of the hydraulic system.
Filter material and structure:
The filter screen of hydraulic oil filter is usually made of materials such as stainless steel woven mesh, sintered mesh, iron woven mesh, etc., and combined with filter materials such as fiberglass filter paper, synthetic fiber filter paper, wood pulp filter paper, etc. These materials have the characteristics of high concentricity, high pressure resistance, and good straightness, which can ensure good filtration effect under different working conditions.
The number of layers of the filter and the mesh size (i.e. the number of holes per unit area) of the wire mesh are determined according to different applicable conditions and purposes, in order to achieve effective filtration of impurities of different sizes.
Installation location and function:
The installation positions of hydraulic oil filter elements in hydraulic systems usually include on the oil suction line, pressure oil line, return oil line, bypass, and even on separate filtration systems. The filter elements in these positions work together to ensure that the hydraulic oil in the hydraulic system remains clean at all times.
By filtering out impurities in hydraulic oil, hydraulic oil filters can protect the normal operation of mechanical equipment and extend the service life of the equipment.
Regular replacement and maintenance:
As the usage time increases, impurities will gradually accumulate on the filter element, leading to a decrease in filtration efficiency and even affecting the normal operation of the hydraulic system. Therefore, regular inspection and replacement of hydraulic oil filter elements are important parts of hydraulic system maintenance.
When replacing the filter element, it is necessary to follow the operating procedures to avoid contamination or damage to the hydraulic system.
