Shallow sand filter, also known as shallow medium filter or shallow sand filter, is a device that uses sand layers for water purification. The working principle of shallow sand filters is based on the physical process in which particles, suspended solids, and some organic matter in the water are captured by the sand layer when water flows through it. The particle size selectivity of the sand layer can filter out most impurities in water while allowing clear water to pass through. During the filtration process, microorganisms and biofilms also further remove impurities and organic matter from the water.
Shallow sand filters, as an efficient water treatment equipment, are widely used in multiple fields due to their unique advantages. The following are the main usage scenarios of shallow sand filters:
1. Industrial field: Used for pre-treatment of industrial cooling water and circulating water systems, removing suspended solids and impurities from water to ensure the normal operation of the system.
2. Municipal water supply: As a pre-treatment equipment for water plants, it removes sediment and suspended solids from raw water to improve water quality.
3. Agricultural irrigation: Suitable for water purification in irrigation systems such as farmland, orchards, lawns, etc., to prevent clogging of irrigation equipment.
4. Swimming Pool and Spa: Keep the water quality of the swimming pool and spa clean, remove impurities such as hair and oil.
5. Aquaculture: Provide clean water sources for aquaculture, remove suspended solids and organic matter from water, and ensure the healthy growth of aquatic organisms.
6. Landscape water bodies: Maintain the clarity and transparency of landscape water bodies in parks, residential areas, etc., and enhance environmental aesthetics.
